There are farmers markets that are kind of along what you are looking for like at yuanshan.
I was just going to chime in about the Yuanshan spot.
Apparently, the official name is Taipei Expo Park, and that fancy market is called Shen Nong? That sounds really fuckinā weird to me, but whatever.
Thatās one spot @downtownandrew might consider. Also concur on that joint up in Tianmu.
The Expo Park is pretty cool though. They usually have some kind of media installations inside the old stadium. It was Minions and some other kid shit last time I was up there. Then thereās the up nā coming food court (I guess itās called Maji?). Some good stuff in there. The place is poppinā.
On a sad note, those electric mini-cars you could rent for your kid (@$400NT an hour) and let him cruise all over the park are no longer available. The proprietor told me he never actually had a permit to operate that business there. Huh. No kidding.
