Chocolate in Trouble

=============No, the lady was probably his agent ANGEL. Yeh, maybe he should have the right to go to jail here, 12 years in the slammer for having dark skin.

That 12 years would have to run concurrently with the 10 he should get for wearing a Black Watch tartan blazer. I had heard the syph affected the brain, but I never thought it would be so soon!

=============Just saw the late night TV news with TVBS or one of the stations and Choco was on. So funny! Here he was, saying: “I have been here for 16 years and they give me one week to pack my bags and leave!” “My syph is all cleared up now, there’s no reason to deport me!”

=============Meanwhile, why the entire segment was so funny, is that the famous infamous crazy dog catcher guy with white gloves who always appears behind newsmakers with placards when they are being interviewed by camera girls, he is there, too, holding up some white placards behind Choco’s head.

=================And Choco almost smashed him with his umbrella!

=================and to make matters even funnier, the newly popuylar Miss Crazy, Miss Hsih, the one who abandoned her daughter, married three times to rich men, tall ugly weirdo always wears hats and jewelry, SHE is there too.

============all this in front of some courthouse… CHOCO, the dog catcher and the dragon lady…3 in one…

==============somebody must plan these things right?

===========Choco looked good, but he looked resigned to his fate. He gotta leave by Monday. My guess is he will be formally deported for five years and then can try to come back in 2009.

==============He really got screwed this time. Moral of story: don’t marry rich bitches. Choco is not the bad guy in all this. It’s the wifey!

if chocolate, fluent in chinese, 16 years in, married gets bounced on a whim do any of us actually have a chance of long term peace and prosperity here? seems we are always be on the outside lookin’ in.

the fiasco that has been his departure is surely expediting my own long simmering desire to get out of here.

Not entirely correct. If you get HIV from your spouse, you can stay and receive treatment under the national health plan. It’s also worth mentioning that anonymous HIV testing is available in Taiwan at major hospitals. Taida is one, I believe.

I caught that news segment. I thought my God this is even wackier than any film script I’ve ever seen.
I think if Chocolate had a good lawyer or backing from AIT he would be allowed undergo a fair review. Where is the due process?

===========what i want to know is thisL why does the media and public tolereate that crazy obnoxious dog cather with the white placards appearing behind all news people allo day 24/7? who is this guy and why don’t they put him in a loony bin or arrest him?

Latest news in the Chocolate epic:

news.chinatimes.com/Chinatimes/n … 02,00.html

Does not look good.

Chocolate appealed to the Taipei High Court. Chocolate and the Taipei City Police made statements. The court did not make a ruling but noted that not issuing a ruling would not stop Chocolate’s deportation (today). The Court emphasized that even if it ruled in Chocolate’s favor he would have to leave the country.

The court asked Chocolate to speak in Mandarin, but Chocolate used an interpreter claiming that he (choc.) speaks broken Mandarin.

The police say Chocolate was reported as a missing person, had syphilis, and had sex with people while he had the disease. Because he is an entertainer, they are deporting him as a threat to good morals and a bad influence on young!

I have to go to lunch, but this a travesty! I mean, what are they gonna do, deport the whole legislative Yuan next?

That sounds like Taiwanese TV theatre of the absurd at its very best! I wish I’d seen it.

It could be even better today. If those two loonies follow Chocolate to the airport when he’s escorted there (in handcuffs?) for deportation, and the wife tags along flinging taunts in his face, and they happen to get tangled up with the entourage of the Taiwanese-Brazilian kid who is due to fly out of Taiwan today, it should be rather colourful, to say the least!

From my recollection of hearing him speak on ICRT a few years ago (before I could reach across and turn off the radio), he was absolutely telling the truth there.

Yes, for sure. So if the High Court rules in Chocolate’s favour, will he be allowed to return to Taiwan at once and claim compensation for having been deported without proper cause? I somehow doubt it. At the very least, they should allow him to stay here in the aliens’ detention centre pending the decision on his appeal .

===========omni, what a vivid TVimagination you have! Most probably they will take Choco to the airport without handcuffs, treat him very politely and gently, and help him board the plane.

==============and most likely he will not be allowed back to Taiwan ever ever, as in ever ever. Persona non gratin forever.

=========But it is weird, human rights wise. what crime did he commit. sounds like a mere police action, KMT style. Well, as of this post, he is probably 35,000 feet and higher than a kite.

==========I don’t think we will see him here again. It makes room for another talented big nose or flat nose to make it bigtime on the Tv screen. I saw the Jeffu was in a new Teresa Teng play musical playing the French boyfriend of Teresa before she dies. This weekend in Taipei.

========Speaking of which, I heard that Teresa Teng was MURdured by spy agency, not death by asthma which the dailies claim. She knew too much apparently. Is this was this true?

======Choco, if you are reading this back in the States, good luck in the next chapter of your book.

=========And omni, Irun the Brazil boy is flying back right now to Rio Dio Niro on a flight from Kaohsiung, so no chance of Irgun and Choco meeting up in flight, but watch the news tonight. sure to be foreign flavored.

============= 7pm TVBS news i just saw, wow! seems that CHOCo tried to commit suicide today, slit hi wrists, in hospital room with oxygen masks, crying, bawling like a baby.

=============Is this drama queen at work or real emotions getting to him. Please, someone, explain this all to us. Omni?

=============Turn on your TV tonight, i am sure the news loop will be played again again. surreal. absurdist. cool.

=============Maybe CHOCO knows the Taiwan way to get things done. Go to hospital, get out of jail.

**** ========= pathetic fallout already from the Chocolate Factory: From the Taipei Times last month, I just read this online: "Whatever the truth of the situation, the Chocolate incident has made black men in Taiwan the victims of TV gossip and the butt of comedians on variety shows. On his own special New Year program, Chang Fei pointed out the drummer of rock band Shin (who is black) and asked, “Are you Chocolate?” Before the drummer could reply, the other guests immediately freaked out, looked at him and were heard to mutter, “Oh-my-god, Chocolate!”

formosa, I wish you’d stop using all those = symbols in your posts. Its fucking irritating. And get your arse to Alleycat’s opening tomorrow.

I don’t have a TV, but I saw something at the bank today; it was just breaking news, so they didn’t have any footage or anything, but the Chinese headline on the bottom said he was involved in a car accident…?

I just saw it on TV too. He claims to have been hit by a taxi although the doctors can find nothing wrong with him. He was at court earlier today and said he was hit by the taxi before he went to court. Asked why he didn’t go to hospital right away he said he felt OK at the time and only felt unwell afterwards (said he had trouble breathing) . Apparently he had asked for an ambulance.

In hospital he was lying down with an oxygen mask but later was walking around again quite happily.

I skipped through the news channels just now, but all I was able to see about Chocolate was a one-line summary running across the bottom of the screen saying"Chocolate sent to hospital with a lightly injured finger." If that’s all it is, I hardly think it’s likely to save the poor chap from prompt deportation.

The news just came out – his appeal against deportation was rejected by the court.
Don’t let the door hit your ass on the way out! HA!

Yep, I’ve just seen it all in a full report on the news. He was hit by a taxi while riding his scooter/motorbike, and went to the hospital complaining of pains in the chest, but the doctor who was interviewed about it said laughingly that he hadn’t sustained any injuries other than grazes. The poor fellow tried to win some sympathy from it, complaining in his atrocious Chinese about what a pitiful creature he was, but it didn’t do him any good. The court has ordered that he leave on a pre-midnight flight, so he should be at the airport already.

Chocolate has left the building…escorted by police to CKS.
