It is indeed a combination of all the reasons you mention
It is a new house, all new… maybe 2 years
but there is absolutely no ventilation in the bathroom
This tiny fan does not help much
After 3 months in the place, I can see mold growing on the fake ceiling
As for the water, I boiled it a few times as an experiment
it smells chemical for sure
chlorine? bleach? I need a ‘nose’ to help me decide
but not good to drink… and to breathe… for sure
As a conclusion, … well. let it be!
I take cold or warm showers now (not hot with steam everywhere)
And it’s getting better… not coughing
