Well, the music is kind of relaxing. For some reason it reminded me of
this one. It could be the response song, ha.

Lol. The songs kinda catchy, although I can’t understand sichuanese very well. Or really at all in his song. Although I have to say, china brings in some of the worst foreigners. Many really uneducated and ignorant ones that really look down on locals. In my time there, I really felt uncomfortable with how many foreigners acted there. I had a lot of conflict with the foreign population there unlike in Taiwan.

There’s a huge gap between local and foreigner relations in china, but both sides are at fault in some way in general.

i dig it. theres a pretty cool video of these guys on youtube, they got kicked out of taiwan for accepting money by accident, sad!

I got along great with people in Sichuan. The locals are really laid back and friendly, and much more outgoing than the Taiwanese. I understood about five percent of what people were saying in Sichuanese at first, but it was up to about 30 or 40 percent after a couple weeks. It’s a Mandarin dialect, but I didn’t believe it when people told me that at first.

i agree it is worse there, more ‘loser laowais’ and people just getting up to debauchery… but it is china, the whole place is debauched.

as for the melon lao wai shit it apparently stemmed from some spanish(?) guy banging some girl in the street and everyone was gathered round filming it on their phone. then after she was threatening to kill herself and he got deported. apparently she did it to get revenge on her husband.

I spent 2 weeks there in Sichuan university. I have no idea how they viewed me, either as part of them or American or Taiwanese or a mix of both. But I would say compared to Beijing. Yeah, I was alright with the locals. I partied like crazy and drank free because I gathered all the girls at the foreign exchange dorm to come party and the club owners loved it. The Chinese guys really have a thing for western girls. It was a little weird. But that’s about all I did there besides eating and playing soccer. I actually paid off my teacher to give me an A for the 2 weeks lol. Apparently it’s common to pay off teachers in china. Scichuan was a good time in college. It might be one of the few places in china I would go to again. Never Beijing again.

Saw that first one a few years back. Cool at first, but then grinds on the ears quickly.

I really like this “Dui bu qi”.

I feel like almost all cases of foreigners acting poorly are ones here for visit instead of staying. They come in with the idea like taiwan is 3rd world and they’ll find girls that will love them long time and they can get wasted and buy drugs openly and act a fool and be douche bags.

. In china, for a pretty oppressive country. Law enforcement seems to be minimum unless you piss off the party. A lot of people just act like such assholes all the time and start fights. People openly sell drugs and foreigners openly solicits prostitutes and things of that nature.

But I guess I’m generalizing a bit. But it’s what I saw while I was there.

Just giving a listen, I see what you mean

I’m surprised they allowed this song to be made in China. The party hates rap and booking agents pretty much can’t get any rappers into China. There’s a whole list of musicians outside of rap that China also has banned. @Dr_Milker

I guess things are a little more relaxed in Sichuan, but that rapper did manage to get on everybody’s favorite show.

Maybe he threw in a couple lines praising the party lol. Maybe Sichuan has a rap scene. But most of China is about edm and stuff of that nature. Not much rap or hip hop stuff while I was there. Rap is heavily censored from what I understand.

for real. i saw it too. but i also feel its a seedier place. the town i was living had massage places everywhere. you could see the girls lined up in the window. the whole culture is about money and sex. yea theres a bit of it in taiwan but i don’t feel like my morals need to be entirely cut off like in china.

Pretty slick, but too cutesy for my taste. Taiwanese pop music just doesn’t do it for me.

It’s Chinese Malay artist music, more guitar and song than Taiwan, just happens to add some Taiwan aboriginal words. The singer adds in words from many cultures.

Nothing wrong with all that. It’s just the cutesy vibe that turns me off. It’s no wonder that Taiwan artists are well received in Malaysia and vice versa.

Now this Malaysian artist I like:

And while we’re on the subject of East meets West music, Rich Chigga has a new one out. Now this guy’s got flow and attitude. His manspreading in the video is off the charts!

He sucks. I met him and talked to him when he came. He’s a weirdo. He’s not even 18 and they gave him a table full of bottles at kor.

I appreciate rappers that can talk about real subjects. He’s not one of them. Just another commercialized rappers the music industry propped up to milk for profit. I feel bad for him, he’s got maybe 1-2 albums before they throw him to the side after making him feel like the man and taking most of his profits. If he wanted to be a rapper, should have stayed independent and develop your skills and following. He’s going to be hot and fall off fast and never have a career if he takes rap serious.

He’s definitely a small fish in a big pond, and as such ripe for exploitation, but I think he’s got great natural flow. Does he have much to say? Yeah, not really, but who does at that age?
