In a statement, Macron’s political movement En Marche! (Onwards!) confirmed that it had been hacked.
“The En Marche! Movement has been the victim of a massive and co-ordinated hack this evening which has given rise to the diffusion on social media of various internal information,” the statement said.
Apparently 9GB’s of files posted on 4Chan, all sorts of accusations already being thrown around, hiring thugs to intimidate the opposition, insider trading. The French have a media blackout on reporting on the political candidates something like 48 hours before the vote which is already in effect. Or something like that.
After watching it for so many times, I thought it was a part of American culture to hit on your female instructors/teachers and have romance with her, which was exactly the plot of this movie. It certainly affected some young men/teenage boys watching it. LOL.
What’s ironic is, not until I met friends from the US did I realize that it was not the case at all, and I felt deceived and sad.
Macron must have had seen this movie when he’s a teenager, but he just went way too far in reality. LOL.
When I was a teenage boy, I saw an old Hollywood movie called Top Gun (1986), and the image of the female character stayed in my mind forever.
But, in reality, the actress has become a granny now.
Maybe Macron has the ability to see how those ladies looked like 30+ years ago, and ignore how they look like now.
I’ll need to be careful what I say, many women are hailing this as a sign of progress and a double standard that has long existed between men and women, for example the age difference between Donald Trump and his wife is roughly the same as Macron and his wife, yet Trump’s marriage hardly raises an eyebrow.
There are some notable differences, such as Macron beginning the relationship when he was just 15, while his now wife was his teacher and 40 at the time.
Anyway, I doubt this hack (assuming it was a hack and not a leak) will change the predicted result. Macron had something like a 20 point lead prior to the information being posted, but France will need to deal with the fallout from this I suspect for a while to come yet.
I’d be willing to bet it will turn out to be an internal leak, just like with Hillary’s emails.
In France it’s prohibited to publish the leaks during the two days before the election, so for the vast majority of people this will have no impact on the vote.
Macron has the support of 99% of the media and the Eu, so he’ll win and European media will publish the same nonsense that followed the elections in Holland:“THE DEFEAT OF POPULISM!1!!!111…even if the populist party/candidate got second place…and he’s never had so many votes before…and he’s in a much more relevant position than ever…but hey, populism has been defeated, screw the working class!”.
Actually, it is a part of American culture. Sexual relationships between students and teachers are very common in the U.S., initiated by both students and teachers, in high school and even grade school.
Fortunately the French people decided to be smarter than the Americans. They raged, raged against the lying of the right, and roundly rejected fascism, bigotry and nationalism. Macron beat Le Pew by a 2-1 majority!
