Got my APRC- now what? Any benefits?

I’m sure you’re right. After my next meditation retreat if I’m feeling particularly tranquil, I suppose I could pop over and grab a number.

It really does taste like (slightly gamy) chicken.

Is there an online site where APRC holders can apply for leave from Taiwan? Or should we still go to the NIA and apply personally?

I think it’s the second to last link on that page…

Thanks, so the maximum is still 2 years? Not 5?

As far as I know it’s 2 years at a time but you can do 2 year extensions continually. There was someone here recently who was on their 2nd or 3rd two year leave.

If you got your APRC on a fake degree and authorities found out, would they cancel it?

Asking for a friend?

Yes

Since we are asking for a friend… Are APRC holders entitled to cash assistance in case of unemployment? For how much and how long?

Jiubao (not to be confused with laobao) is for foreign spouses but not for PR’s. I haven’t heard of a plan to expand it, though I suppose it would make sense now that PR’s are in the new pension system along with foreign spouses.

Jiubao sounds like a guaranteed supply of  :upside_down_face:
