Haute Cuisine in Taipei

I’m surprised L’ATELIER de Joël Robuchon hasn’t been mentioned in this thread yet. At 2 Michelin stars and less than $3000 for a dinner set it’s an absolute steal.

haven;t been yet, but I had many recommendation to go there. I talk only about places I tried.

That’s what I was thinking as well. I thought maybe they closed. Rest room the size of an apartment. May have gone on a bad day. Flavor profiles lacked pizazz.

The current chef is from Japan and he knows what he is doing. I’ve only had his cooking once, but wow was that a great meal. Of course sit at the bar and watch the open kitchen if possible.

In earlier days, the work of chef Suga and dessert chef Narita was incredible. Remember: this was the first outfit with Michelin stars to move to Taipei, I believe in 2009. I don’t quite think they get the credit they deserve for getting things moving.
