Inclusion in film & tv casting

Fine, fine, you force my hand.

Yeah, OK, but where does it say Flagg/The Dark Man appears in The Shining?

That’s my point – it doesn’t.

The best actor should get the job.

The Lab, Brook Hall’s amazing theatre company is just going into rehearsals for The Diary of Anne Frank. Yinz dinnae get more stereotypical casting than that.

Brook has cast a black woman and a few asians.

A previous production used an all-asian cast for an NYC-based play (Gods of Carnage) and it worked beautifully. Even managed to include some Taiwanese cultural taboos iirc.

Hell, I played a Russian sub captain in a commercial (speaking role) and beat out actual Russians. (Okay, I looked more like Sean Connery than they did, but still, was best choice as far as talent and experience)

If there is more chemistry than all others vying for the role, you get the job.

An actor recently cast in a new HellBoy movie refused the role once he found out character had some asian in him and is being applauded for it. I disagree with his choice.

Jobs are so rare, unemployment in our field is reputedly around 90%. Take what you can get.

I asked for a Dane, not an… American!

I suppose, in retrospect, the correct term here would be Humanwashed…maybe Earthlingwashed

I love this. Agree & approve.

You asked…I will give you two!

Some say…

Tom Stoppard is not Tom Stoppard? :astonished: Who is he? :male_detective:

You can argue he’s Czech, but that’s still a far cry from Danish.
