蓮作坊 Paper Lotus workshop:
This is a group for anyone interested in learning how to meditate by making paper lotus. We teach lessons (in English) on how to perform those Taiwanese religious rituals, the meaning behind them and the basic linguistic course to acquire those key phrases. We will meet regularly on Saturday mornings (10 PM) in Cixian Temple within Shilin night market.
First-time participants are required to 500 NT for all the basic expenses.
This pays for all the materials involved in making paper lotus - the papers with Buddhist scriptures, red threads, handbook that includes all the basic bits of knowledge about the lotus papers. We will take time guiding you to make your own paper lotus and instruct you the methods to turn it into a form of meditation. This includes a course on the basic manners and taboos in Eastern temples, and an elementary linguistic course on the key phrases frequently used in Oriental symbolism.
Most of all, part of the payment will be donated to the temple.
