January 4th - Meteor Shower

My girlfriend just informed me of a meteor shower coming tomorrow. Anyone know more about it? Like an exact hour? An online search seems to suggest it might be the "Quadrantid shower January 3/4 some 120 meteos a hour " but it’s not from a very reliable source.

From a link that my uncle the rocket scientist has on his website sof-sys.com/links.htm :

Wednesday, 01/03
Quadrantid Meteors, 8:00 p.m.
The Full Moon detracts, but some of these faint meteors may be seen radiating from low in the North-northwestern sky (from what is now Bootes). The radiant progresses to the North and then Northeast as the hours pass.

I’m not trying to be a jerk, but there’s a colon ( at the end of that URL which prevents one from going directly to that link.

Okay. When can we see it from here? Can we see it from here? I LOVE meteor showers. I’ll even go up a hill in XinDian to see it better… can we can we can wee???

I’ll be sure to go outside to look at the rain clouds.

OK, got it now, but go to the Space.com link and type ‘Quadrantid’ into the search line.

Here’s another link for the Quadrantid showers:

Hmm, so it looks like it will arrive Thursday morning…and yes rain clouds will prevent us from seeing anything…oh well. It was worth a shot at asking.
