'Kill Chinese'

‘Kill Chinese’: Racist graffiti discovered on University of Sydney campus alongside swastika

What is going on in Australia?
And what is wrong with the comment section of shanghaiist.com? It seems to be an English version of a Chinese website, but full of blatant hate speech against China and Chinese people.

Are they (whoever drew the graffiti and left the nasty comments online) real non-Chinese who hate Chinese?
Or it’s like what some comments stated, it’s some kind of setup done by Chinese in order to make a fuzz?
Anyway, both the graffiti and the comments online are too disturbing to be true.

It shocked me every time I saw some Taiwanese people approving remarks bashing China or cursing Chinese people.
It’s a totally different thing when the words are coming out from non-Asians.

You really think they know the difference between different kinds of Asians? Let alone the difference between Taiwan and China.
How many people around the world know the difference between India and Pakistan?

I’ve even seen non-Asian people seeing Thais and Indonesians as Chinese, so it’s obvious that many ignorant people around the world think China is the name of the whole continent and they include all East Asians and South-East Asians among the term China and Chinese.
So, basically those Taiwanese people are approving the remarks insulting themselves.

It’s a world full of ignorance and stupidity.

it would take me 3 days to link all the instances of racist/homophobic graffiti that popped up hours after Trump’s election and that eventually turned out to be a hoax, made by people who wanted to put his electors under a spotlight.

in many instances, people from minorities (be it race, religion, whatever) claimed to have been assaulted by trump supporters and ended up being arrested or even jailed for false reports.

of course this anti-china thingy may be legit, but i’d take it with a grain of salt.

Nothing new, surprised this even got traction. The minorities giving the majority a bad rep.

“According to SBS Mandarin, the Chinese Foreign Ministry has also expressed its concerns about the incident, uring Australian authorities to handle the case property and protect the safety and diginity of Chinese students in Australia.”

1,000 NT says the Chinese Foreign Ministry doesn’t give a damn about the racial abuse whites often face in China… What do you say all you 洋腸歪國人 devils!

P.s. Do they use 洋腸…歪國人 in China?

Maybe someone is trying to lower real estate prices? If the Chinese all leave, maybe they can afford a house one day!

Why are you at all shocked there is anti-Chinese sentiment in Australia? Australia is 5.6% Chinese. If China had 77 million white people, Chinese would be doing more than writing graffiti…

I’m going to go with hoax or silly teenagers rather

Definitely

You are so racist.

Most Australians accept people of all races as citizens, and understand the difference between Japanese and Chinese, etc.

According to most Taiwanese, I am American, despite the fact I have never stepped foot on that land.

That symbol you call a “swastika” is an ancient Chinese symbol.

Maybe a Taiwanese student wrote that graffiti, or maybe even a Chinese student to stir up a bunch of crap.

Given that most racists don’t have a university education, mayhaps the janitor wrote it after having to clean up crap off the toilet seat and the floor, after mistakenly attributing the misaligned feces to our Chinese friends.

Who knows?

It definitely wasn’t written by a native English speaker.

EDIT: In fact, the more I think about it, it sounds like Chinglish. No native English Speaker would ever write “Kill Chinese”.

Heard on the radio that a group called something like the Youth Socialist Association of Australia put up banners in simplified Chinese characters saying that international Chinese students were not permitted to enter this certain big important area of campus and any who did would be deported. The banners were quickly taken down by security and a police investigation followed. This was at the University of Melbourne.

Although the origins of the swastika are murky, it didn’t originate in China. It came there from the subcontinent along with Buddhism.

Does that claim have any basis in reality, or is that just something you want to believe?

By modern standards the majority of people in Taiwan are racist, for example. Or at least they would be if they were caucasian.

Australia has let in millions of Asians.
Given the equal rights. Lets them become citizens. Lets them practice their religions.

Such a joke to criticise them given Asia’s track record on racism.

I would respond to that but I would probably get my post taken down again.

So, to sum up:

  • Mr.Opressed strikes again
  • Yes racism is bad
  • Yes writting shitty stuff is bad
  • There are racists all around the world
  • Then there are people who would write stuff like this only to make fuss all around the world too

BTW if stupid graffiti made by some stupid kid in some university shitter is the strognest sign of the racism in country (to the point that it’s worth writing news about), then I would really wish for the whole world to be racist only like that.

kill chinese? sounds like chinglish to me.

its pretty ignorant to think people can’t differentiate different groups of asian people in this day and age and that they don’t know anything about chinese. chinese people overseas are getting up to all kinds of anti social behaviour. some of it politically fuelled, it shouldn’t be surprising that they rub some people the wrong way.

Better run it by a native Aussie speaker first. :2cents:

I agree that it doesn’t sound Aussie, but it may not be Chinglish also. Given the diverse population of Melb Uni, there could be many suspects of many backgrounds.

If all the undocumented white people who grabbed Aboriginal land leave, maybe housing would become more affordable too!
