Making Suggestions to the Government re Regulatory Reforms

Good idea, Cranky.

Here’s the link to the relevant part of the CEPD website.

This scheme, conducted by the CEPD’s Center for Economic Deregulation and Innovation (CEDI), is aimed at soliciting suggestions on relaxing any law or regulation in a way that would be beneficial to Taiwan’s business environment and/or economic development. It’s a pretty wide net, so anything that would make Taiwan more attractive to foreign businesses and the kinds of white-collar foreigners that Taiwan wishes to lure here would fall within its ambit. Any member of the public is welcome (and encouraged) to make a suggestion.

Suggestions can be made in Chinese or English, though Chinese would be much better. (If it’s submitted in English, the staff in CEDI will have to translate it themselves before anything can be done with it.) If the CEDI people consider that a suggestion has any prima facie merit, they’ll put it into appropriate form and pass it on to the Ministry of Justice for the next stage of processing. Suggestions are compiled and sent to the MOJ once every three months.
