Question: the pipes heading to/from that oil station, can or can’t they play a Kaohsiung kaboom on Taoyuan citizens?

Not really likely, unless a fire reached the storage facilities. Kaohsiung was an underground gas explosion.

Refinery accidents have the potential to create some massive explosions, but they’re in a dedicated area, unlike what happened in Kaohsiung in a residential area. Still, things could get pretty hot for the people living nearby.

Pipes carrying liquid petroleum products aren’t as likely to contribute to things as gas pipes, I’d say.

Just as an aside, my colleague was supposed to begin teaching a class today at one of the Junior High schools but classes were cancelled because of this explosion.
