Second post on here, but my wife and I are moving to Taiwan in one month and wanted to get any recommendations on shopping, eating, where to visit, etc. In the Nantou City area.
Open to virtually anything, just looking for info on what we can do.

My wife’s mom and dad live in coatun.
It’s great not to busy and 40mins to Taichung. Iv been there 4 times now you can get everything vegetable market gets packed out . So go super early. I will be there this January for 1 month . I think we may build a new house there one day .
But good spot if you ask me .
If you like fishing plenty of rivers around there

Now, my FAVORITE PLACE in town:
“Tapas” is the name, right next to: 台灣省政府聯合員工消費合作社
Gino and Ming own the place. Absolutely amazing Taiwanese couple, fluent in English, and make wonderful bread with high quality ingredients. Also make pizzas on request.
