I'm actually kind of quiet and reserved. It is kind of endearing I think how some girls act here, although I like all kinds of girls, it seems a lot of girls here are really polite and smiley, and never assume that you automatically like them, for some reason, a lot of American girls think, that if you look at them, that you automatically like them, and beyond that, that they will assume you want something more, it is kind of sad the inflated sense if ego. But Taiwanese (and a lot of most non-American) girls don't assume that, they are unassuming and polite. Which is an endearing attribute. They will seem to smile at you when they like you.
Although I don't care that much because I am confident in who I am not to let it bother me, I don't like that sense of assuming or entitlement amongst anyone, and won't put up with it from American girls (give them the eyebrow raise or eye roll when they look at me with entitlement), I feel like telling them "I have tried to accomplish a lot in my young life thus far, and i try to be as kind as possible, and have been told I am handsome enough to get a lot of girls, why would I want you? I want a sweet and smart girl to be a girlfriend, not someone so arrogant and entitled that they automatically try to decide everyone's intentions".
But maybe it is kind of like that quote, "The degree of civilization in a society can be judged by observing its prisoners", i.e. American girls were either brought up with a really inflated sense of ego or maybe guys have treated so badly that they have this wall up or maybe its just insecurity guised in a frown. I don't really care, I just like nice girls, from whatever culture they come from.
