I need to go to Okinawa for a visa run to get a visitor visa. What do I need to take with me? How long will it take? Please help. I’ve never done a visitor visa run before.

Take lots of $$$. I just got back from there, and boy is it pricey.

If cost is an issue, get visa done in Bangkok instead.
Compared to Taiwan, it’s expensive, but you can find cheaper food if you need to, like in the market. It’s cheaper than the rest of Japan. To stay in a nice place, like a comfortable hostel, is not cheap.
This one place I stayed at in Naha, the Sanwa So I believe it’s called, cost about $80 US a night. That’s cheap for Naha at least. I don’t know what the rest of the place is like but just to chime in with the general “Man alive, is Okinawan accomodation ever expensive” theme. 1000 NT would get you roughly the same level of comfort in Northern Taiwan.
Like I said, the nice place I stayed at was Y4200 per night - not US$80, and you can get cheaper, like Y3000 or thereabout.
