Petition for Princess Leia to be an official Disney Princess

So there’s a petition on change.org with over 30K signatures for Princess Leia to be inducted as the first “live action” Disney princess.

Since Disney purchased Star Wars productions a some years back, it’s possible.

Personally, I would like to see it happen. She does fit the criteria to be a princess. She is Padme’s daughter, who was once Queen of Naboo. If you argue that her adoptive parents aren’t loyalty, Senator Bail Organa was never mentioned as royalty, but his mother was royalty.

She’d also be a BAMF of a role model.

Today I learned what BAMF is. I’m getting old.
My Leia-as-Disney-princess vote: Sure, why not.

Coincidentally, I heard that phrase from Star Wars. Samuel L Jackson reportedly had “BMF” inscribed on his light saber for the second trilogy.

Given Carrie Fisher’s substance abuse issues, I don’t see squeaky-clean Disney adopting that motion anytime soon.

That’s a pretty valid point. I never thought of the actress portraying the character negative effects on induction.

This is one issue in which none of the other princesses have since they were all cartoon based.

Just animate her for goodness sakes. What’s the problem. I think there was an animated series in the eighties.
