I trust car rentals as much as I trust my plumber or my politicians.
Is there a place where they rent to people with IDP?
Without the stupid down payment they always ask for in small places ( I mean no, I’m not handing you $15,000 NT for a down payment)

I’ve used IWS on Chengde Road a few times. They’ve never given me any problems, and I’ve never paid the full price shown on their website.

Apart from passport and valid IDP they need a credit card (not a debit card) which they pre-auth instead of taking a cash deposit.

I use CarPlus in Taiwan and pick up/drop off in different locations. Frequently located within walking distance of HSR or inside HSR station. Not sure about Taipei locations.
