Setting up branch office in Taiwan

Second post — the first post wasn’t quite right

I have a successful U.S. based online business and am looking for the optimal way to establish my presence here in Taiwan so I can pay proper taxes and gain other advantages that come from having a legal entity. From my initial research it seems a branch office is the way to go. I do not need an ARC as I have a spousal ARC.

To that end I’d love to hear from folks in a similar situation.

In addition, I’m looking for top-notch accounting and legal advice, and am willing to pay for quality. I’ve gone through the various recommendations in this forum and contacted a few, but any additional recommendations are welcome.

Thanks, and sorry for the double post (and thanks to whoever deleted the first one!)

If you don’t need an ARC then better to incorporate in a place with lower costs and taxes.

I have helped a few with that before like going to the Tax and Commerce bureau to apply for all this. For a Branch company you need a parent company (US or elsewhere based) to provide relevant docs (and company structure). An office rep you also still need a letter from your parent company (even if you are the boss of it) and get it certified. If you need more info you can PM me; I can try my best to answer your questions.

You contacted professionals, so most probably already know.

Thank you @tando — I hope this can be a resource as well.

@RoyVonDoom will message. Thanks.

@Immersion thanks for the note, but given I live here a good part of the year, I have no issue paying taxes.

What are the additional costs beyond taxes I should be concerned with?
