Shakespeare was a monarchist. He didnât know any better; it was just the times he lived in.

Gollum reading Trumpâs tweets. Infinitely more entertaining than they were originally intended.
xD i missed this kind of comedy during the previous 8 years
But that would have been racist! Are you condoning racism?
We mods have a powerful anti-spam filter to assist us in keeping this place ship-shape. Most spam never sees the light of day here, and we wouldnât normally even tell you about it. Today Iâm making an exception.
Weâve seen this piece at least twice in the past week or so. I was just going to quote a few lines, but the whole thing is so, you know, exuberantâŚ
Trump Brings Prestige to the Mail Order Bride Industry.
For years, International Marriage Services had to live with the stigma of being referred to as Mail Order Bride services. However, many consider the term âmail-order brideâ derogatory and feel it demeans foreign women by comparing them to commodities for sale and falsely implying that (unlike local women), they exercise no judgment over the men they meet and would marry anyone from a relatively wealthy country. Even with the foreign women being labeled as mail order brides these companies have grown in popularity for the past two decades, largely due to the internet. The industry grew at such a fast pace it caught the attention of the US senator Maria Cantwell of Washington State, who in 2006 she pushed a bill through congress known as IMBRA or International Marriage Brokers Regulation Act. Although the intent of Senator Cantwell was clearly meant to put Foreign Bride Companies out of business by severely restricting how men communicate with foreign women. In the end, the companies flourished under the new regulations as these business quickly modified their business models.
Iâll skip over the name of the companyâŚ
one of the largest so called Mail Order Bride Companies says, âWe have always had to overcome this label. Since Trump announced his candidacy for president of the United States, the industry saw a significant increase in upscale business men looking for foreign brides. Once he became president, Trump made it the new status symbol of success to be married to an eastern European women. With First Lady Melanie Trump in the White House, opinions about foreign women have dramatically changed. Once men were scorned upon to be married to a women from Russian or the Ukraine, now is seen as prestigious. And we are seeing huge increase of men seeking foreign brides, our client base is up by more than 200% since Trump has taken office. This month alone we will be taking over 100 American men to the Ukraine, mostly very successful executives.â Beside online matchmaking, the company arranges group tours for men that will travel to countries throughout the world. During these tours the men will meet hundreds of pre-screened women during what [âŚ] calls âSocial Eventsâ or what Kenneth calls speed dating on steroids.
Critics say these women are just used as arm trophies for business men in America. That men take advantage of the womenâs circumstances, both economical and geographical. Kenneth argues, âI would hardly say Melanie Trump has been taken advantage of or refer her to as a Mail Order Bride. Women choose just like the men choose, we are all adults and are responsible for our own choices. It is just that men in America have a good reputation for the way we treat women and how we take care of our families. This opens the door to the men to meet some of the most beautiful women in the world.â
Trump is not the only high profile person to marry a foreign women, Jeb Bush met his wife in Mexico. Rupert Murdoch former CEO of Fox News married Wendi Deng from China, and the list goes on.
If Trump accomplishes nothing else during his presidency he has clearly helped one Industry.
Hereâs to the good reputation of American family values, and to helping the economies of multiple countries!
Some people really have a lot of fantasy xD (as well as too much spare time!)
But hey, thereâs no way someone could think Michelle Obama was a mail bride, so it does make sense to make that up for The God Emperorâs Wife.
Can you not read the bias and disdain dripping from that opinion piece, or are you numb to it?
âLiberal hate kills,â shrieked protesters disrupting the play.
Still nothing? How about this.
âBlack lives matter,â shrieked the criminals disrupting the library.
Save for the âcriminalâ label (unless said people have been convicted of crimes), Iâd have a problem with neither description as long as theyâre accurate. Donât see the issue here.
not them, but plenty of others from the same group did.
regardless of that, though, a group that often organizes marches during which a very common slogan is âwhat we want?â - âdead copsâ gets no sympathy from me.
I can read many things, Mr. Yuan. Try reading my post again.
Emotive words like âshriekâ have no place in decent reporting.
Fair enough. So if we replace âshriekâ with a less emotive word like âyellâ itâd be okay then?
This is a thread about narratives. I suppose you could start a Decent reporting about US politics thread. Good luck.
Not my point though. Iâm not being an apologist for BLM. Rather saying I didnât really see the big problem with the quote in yyyâs article. But the monkey explained it.
Well, theyâre trying to pin the latest riots on The Donald. It wonât stick, and theyâll pay a price for trying to legitimize ANTIFA. Meanwhile, whatâs going on with the âineffectiveâ narrative? Hereâs a list whose bias is the mirror image of the mainstream media bias. It fills in the rest of the picture:
Iâm always curious why people feel the need to put âANTIFAâ in capitals.
Because thatâs the way they talk. Or to be precise, yell.
Really? I feel I manage to post without yelling or posting entirely in capitals, and you could probably call me âone of themâ. Assuming that label is applied to anti-fascists in general. If youâre just using it to apply to loud demonstrators who you donât like, then maybe not.
Theyâre not anti-fascists. Theyâre the fascists. Hadnât you noticed?
