The Taiwan Weather Thread 2017

In the hotel in hehuan mountain there are pics taken 30/40+ years ago that look straight out of the European Alps. The skiing facility looks very interesting, I’ve been there few years ago in January and it was laying on a green field of grass, like wtf…

So, I take out all the winter clothes, and:

Well, at least I only put away the sleeveless stuff.

Sunny skies and hot weather are expected across the country from Wednesday to Thursday, and the temperature gap between day and night could be more than 10 degrees Celsius.

Another cold air front blowing from the northeast is about to approach Taiwan Friday, which is weaker from the previous one, Wu added.

Really annoying.

First autumn in Taiwan?
Amateur.

Look on the bright side, it is from Taiwan (not really) News, so there’s a good chance it’s bullshit anyways.

ETA: They refer to Kinmen as an “islet”???
Fucking bozos.

Every cloud has a silver lining. :sunglasses:

We’re seriously calling a low of 19C a “cold front”? Compared to what we had this summer, agreed. Aside from that…no.

Actually, “we” aren’t.
That crap excuse for a news organization is.

This is “Taiwan cold.” Things are a little different here. Haven’t you seen all the people out and about in ski parkas?

It’s my first day here…fresh off the boat from the sunshine state.

What’s 19C in Fahrenheit? Why isn’t the sky blue? Where’s the closest Chipotle and Coffee Bean?

You can tell “Winter” (lol) in Taiwan has started once people start to wear 3 layers of clothes for 18/19C.
But in Taichung the weather was glorious the last few days; clear blue skies, 20/25C and some fresh breeze, it was perfect. Sunday we may have been close to 30C, I was sweating by simply walking around with a t-shirt.
Now back in the cold (lol) North, and this morning in Yilan there were some raindrops. Feelsbadman.

I wish I had some answers for you, son, but there aren’t any. Now put on your parka and warm up with a danbing and some piping hot soybean milk.

I just did the math, 19C is 66.2F.

That’s pumpkin spice latte weather. Where can I get me some PSL in Taipei?

Few secretaries walking around the office here bundled in layers of jumpers and over sized scarfs complaining about how cold it is. With the aircon on it was 22°C in the office during the summer and they were flouncing around in little or nothing :sunglasses:, with the aircon on it’s 22°C in the office today they’re wrapped up as if it’s the last of days.

In Taiwan, we eat pumpkin with the skin on. I can put some in your soybean milk if you like.

Watch it: he could be accused of cultural appropriation.

Well, we culturally appropriated PSL from the Indians (true story!), so I think it’s all right.

The real Indians or the fake ones?

The real Indians are making serious bank at their casinos these days, so they could care less.

OH NICE, so you reckon people from India are fake Indians. You racist.

Ps:

The only right answer was to avoid replying and waiting for someone else to dive into a self-inflict oblivion of racism.

The milk in my udders may be “white supremacist,” but a cow, as an oppressed minority, literally can’t be racist.
