Translation? (documents for work permit)

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows what documents I need translated for a A 11 work permit? I am lost and the company does not know either.

Honestly, the company seems good and it seems like a nice place to work, but yesterday the boss scolded me in front of everyone, because they did not send the right work documents to the WDA. I do not care, because their actions says a lot more about them, but I could not stand up for myself because I need this job.

This literally sounds like their job sponsoring you. You shouldn’t have to do anything besides sign some papers and provide documents they might need to see and copy.

My best guess is your degree and relevant work experience related documents.

Didn’t we go over all this in the other thread you started about getting your own work permit?

I know. I am just so tired, and I need this job now, so I have to get it done. :expressionless:

That is what I thought too. I will bring those, as well as my TEFL, over there.

perhaps think about keeping an updated resume handy and be on the lookout for jobs to transition to unless you really enjoy this job. Every good company I worked with that actually took cared of me was really organized on the human resource front. Going over the contract in detail, benefits, their rights, my labor rights, pension, etc. The only time I ignored that is if I’m working with a friend and he and I have a working relationship that I trusted things to be verbal agreements that he would honor. Sounds like they might potentially fuck you over or inadvertently do something that screws you over.

I had thought you already got your ARC.

What you and your employer need for A11 work permit are listed here. If you don’n have a 2-yr work experience, you and your employer also need to check Consultation Mechanism (會商機制).

You mean something like…make him do 2 weeks of “training” and not pay him?

If nothing else, this whole ordeal is giving the OP an invaluable lesson in the way things really work in Taiwan. It’s better to learn this lesson early rather than later.

Calma pueblo.

You and your boss must remember that the agency’s job is to make things difficult for you in order to protect local labor. So, deep breath, this can be solved and all this will pass.

Get yourself to one of many nice cafes in Taichung, a traditional one with a garden or view, get your laptop and go through the links, make a list, make a plan how to get there. You may not end following the plan but you will know what to do.

Academic Research, that’s a fancy one. I’m just used to the cram school kind.

In this thread, tando has provided some links that look very informative about this kind of thing, although I had trouble understanding some of it (hopefully tando would answer your questions).

Bearing in mind that that is, in my book, a fancy work permit, and also that I’ve been wrong plenty of times in my life, I’m going to go out on a limb and say that I’m pretty sure your employer still should be the one to do the actual applying.

Article 48 of the Employment Services Act says, in pertinent part:

Prior to employing foreign worker to engage in work, employer shall apply to the central competent authority for employment permit with relevant documents submitted.

雇主聘僱外國人工作,應檢具有關文件,向中央主管機關申請許可。

https://laws.mol.gov.tw/FLAW/FLAWDAT09.aspx?lsid=FL015128&flno=48

Still, if only for your own edification, if you don’t already know the stuff in tando’s links in this thread, you might want to take a look at them. You might be able to help your employer.

Am I wrong but shouldn’t this all been handled before he can even work legally? Can’t he get deported as of now?

If you want to know more details, you can check a manual. It’s in English.

Review Manual for Foreign Professionals Applying for Work Permits

Special Professions or Technical Assignments(SOP Manual)

exactly.

Like we discussed before, as long as it’s not work, it should be fine.

OP’s starting day on the contract is December 1.
