Two-Year Work Experience Requirement - Is There a Way to Appeal?

I am not quite sure there’s a rule regarding blue vs white collar work experience you have. Work experience is work experience as long as it some kind of relevance to the job you’re applying for. However, that’s almost saying you can use your convenient store experience to apply for a corporate desk job.

@yyy can probably clarify more

White collar workers are divided into several categories in the Qualifications and Criteria Standards for foreigners undertaking the jobs specified under Article 46.1.1 to 46.1.6 of the Employment Service Act (外國人從事就業服務法第四十六條第一項第一款至第六款工作資格及審查標準), so the exact requirements depend on the type of job.

I’m not sure how willing they would be to count experience in one type of job as relevant to another type. You can try asking the WDA.

Thank you for your informations … i just talked with one of my company hr personnel and he told me that a 2year working experience outside taiwan is needed , is this rule still existing up to now? Because ive got friends with 5 year experience all in taiwan but dont have from our home country … im thinking our hr department is not updated with new rules in hiring foreign workers… thanks again

If no-one here knows, the WDA knows. Your HR department should ask them.

Good luck! :four_leaf_clover:

Anyone done this successfully recently?

I provided two years of work experience but problem is it was remote work done in Taiwan while teaching at a Buxiban. WDA asked my new employer for details about this, have written a letter explaining that because the work was online and my buxiban hours were part time I was able to do both jobs.

Not sure if they’ll accept my application after this though… so might need to go through the Consultation Mechanism. Would love to hear if anyone has experience of this.
