What Movies Are You Watching? —2017—

I’ve watched every Transformers movie on the first weekend as they hit the theaters and this will be the first one I will skip. I don’t care what you say, but Transformers is not the same without Shia and Megan.

I ended up not seeing it. Not because I didn’t want to, but just…got busy?

And Top Gun 2.

@Rockefeller

A reminder that she was bad ass before WW. This goes right next to “I’ve killed things from other worlds before”.

The new pirates movie is… well, not in the same league as the first 3, but MUCH better than the 4th. It was definitely too long, they could have cut 20/30 minutes and it would have been a more enjoyable experience. Depp couldn’t care less about this movie, and most actors didn’t look involved at all. Only Bartem impressed me.
I’d only recommend this movie to a fan of the original trilogy who was shocked by how bad the 4th was.

@ranlee

Ah, Sung Kang. :howyoudoin:

I left, i’m sure it was ok…but it was so slow to develop into any sort of plot that I cared about.

It was PAINFULLY slow. Even my wife reckoned there’s was not enough action or comedy, and she doesn’t usually care about that stuff to much. It’s a pity because they created Jack’s origins story and a new, fairly interesting villain. Too much wandering around, too much time on the forced romance between the new characters and there was no need to add so many secondary story lines. I mean…Jack’s origin, new villain, Barbossa, the two new characters’ romance, the old characters romance…wtf, it’s too much stuff.

If the movie was:
Jack’s origin
New villain
Search for the secret island
Resolution of old character’s story arch

It would have been 20/30 minutes shorter, less confusing and more entertaining.

I don’t suppose anyone gave transformers a shot? Besides wonder women…is there anything else good coming out this summer?

Baby Driver. The big sick. Dunkirk. Spider-man: Homecoming. Atomic Blonde. American Made. Kingsman 2.

The first two have been mentioned, Andrew. C’mon :smirk:.

Not that I don’t get where you’re coming from (and literally no one else in the world can blame you), but like, at a certain point - Is your girlfriend okay with all this? :joy:

Having said that, while I was never a rabid fan of the F&F series, F4-6 was the trilogy for me - when she was out so was I. F5 was the peak for obvious reasons.

I was feeling a bit hesitant, not to say very worried about Bladerunner, being filmed in 3D and almost 30 years too late. Alas, it has the same director as Arrival, which was pretty cool story wise, so there is hope.

Anyone know if all eyez on me, the 2pac movie is going to show in taiwan?

I’ve seen all of them, but decided that…new trilogy was a no go for me.

GF is perfectly fine with this because she’s probably more in love with Gal Gadot than I am.

I have always been a fan of the FF series, but I have to say her not being in 6-8 were major bummers. I think I’ll finish watching F9 and F10, but I will say it does lack something without her and Sung Kang’s character.

Bahahaaha nice. Okay, I’ll play. I’ll see your youtube link and raise you a screen shot off my phone:

If that’s what you think, you need to rewatch F6. It becomes a bummer no doubt, but not because she wasn’t in it (she was, and she gave a great perf).

My sister and I didn’t plan to see F7 until you-know-what tragically happened (we liked the movie fine). We have little to no interest in 8 and beyond.

I don’t see how that’s an even call or a raise. Please bring your A game to this Gal Gadot montage I’m having.

I still stand by F5. The addition of Dwayne Johnson was a huge plus to the already awesome ensemble cast.

Dunno what to think of this but may watch it anyways. Topic seems a bit…sensitive these days. But there is Jacky Chan, Pierce Papacito Brosnan and the director of Golden Eye/Casino Royale.

I hate Jackie chan. He’s a fascist and I won’t support him.

It’s a different role for him and I’m interested to see how he does in a darker role.

Kind of looks like Taken, but with Jackie.

The sequel in question is F6…
I’m the dyslexic one on the forum, damnit! :joy:

Connery and Brosnan will always be my two Bonds. Wonder who takes it from Craig.

This was my childhood hero:

Of course, if it was live…I’d die. This was the first mecca, stuff Pacific Rim paid homage to. Beyond awesome.

Gal Gadot has a major role in 6. It’s the only one in which her character is legitimately badass.
