You can't legally watch that show in Taiwan? What do you do?

You try to be a good little boy. You want to watch that new or obscure series. You can’t get a multi-region DVD player [true for almost a year the American Chamber of commerce was able to eradicate them], you can’t find them in the local DVD stores, you subscribe to Netflix only to find the movies, though in the Netflix Library you can’t access them in Taiwan due to rights.
*You even bought the box set of DVD’s of your favorite series that was available at Carrefour in the discount bin only to find that the DVD’s were defectively mastered. The help number went to an anti pirating coop who were more concerned that you did not buy a pirated DVD instead of supporting legal customers. They told you that you did indeed have a licensed copy but the company went bust and is no longer in the DVD business.
So now you tried to play the legal game. You are fed up. Do you

  1. Be a stoic Buddhist Monk, accept your fate and abstain. 2. Buy a proxy service and use your legally obtained Netflix account(would your legal conscience bother you). 3. Look up the Chinese name of the show, visit a Chinese Streaming Site (because all the good shows have been cleared from Youtube) and watch. or 4 other.
The BBS’s are not supposed to promote Piracy but I’m really interested people who choose option one, even after they did everything in their power to get a hold of the video legally but are just told,“We don’t want your stinking money, you live in the wrong area”.
Did you change from one belief to another?

If you have a place in your home country or a family member or friend who can let you use a spare tv somewhere to set up your own cable line, then slingbox is rather good. Been using it for years.

Netflix cracked down on being able to use a VPN.

Cool, but where would you put that on your legal conscious scale.

I would never suggest that people download utorrent and fire up piratebay. That’s illegal

100%.
You’ve bought the cable TV subscription in your home country, connected to a TV, which is connected to the Internet. Slingbox is an App in iTunes (and probably Android) and then you can watch live home TV anytime you want.
