June 21st, year after year the sun reaches its peak above the earth for just one day.
This is the longest day of the year, and the shortest night.
During the Qing Dynasty this day was a holiday to be celebrated. And while this tradition has long been forgotten, we invite you to celebrate it with us in the forest.
With us is a chef of unparalleled talent, frosty handcrafted beers, a stereo system so large as to defy all logic, and Funwari-chan - an electronic music artist and music producer hailing from Tokyo who will be providing music for us all to chill-out on this idyllic midsummer afternoon in the forest.

Funwari-chan is a “still-sort-of-secret” kind of girl.
Based in Tokyo, Funwari-chan began in 2012 as a project of Phasma(Producer/Composer/Art Director),
NOEL-KIT(Producer/Composer) and Shinya Mizuno(Illustrator/Animator).
Funwari-chan’s music was used in “Shiawase No Katasa (vimeo.com/71762708)”,
an animation directed by Shinya Mizuno which was selected as a prize-winning work at the “DOTMOV festival 2013”.
Releasing numbers of self-produced works,
Funwari-chan is fluffily active in various shapes such as remix works,
collaborations with fashion brands and live performances at events.

The event will have a variety of special hand-brewed beers from Japan, provided with special thanks to HITACHINO NEST Beer.

In 1996 the historic Kiuchi sake brewery in Kanto began brewing Hitachino Nest Beer, which, due to their 180 years of brewing experience combined with locally sourced quality ingredients, has gained massive popularity and set itself apart from all other beers on the market. Produced in small quantities using innovative brewing techniques, Hitacho Nest Beer has won awards both in Japan and around the world. Legend has it that it’s unique flavor is imbued by the joyous spirit of the locals that brew it.

The event will feature a very special interactive installation, the 9th annual Taipei Digital Art Award first prize winner “Afterlife Ver 2.0” By Hsien-Yu Zheng.
▋NATURE /LOCATION
-Siu Siu Lab of Primitive Senses-
As human beings (ourselves) are detached from civilization to access a lifestyle of scanty materials, our inner animality generated from primitive natural habitat is emancipated. Inexplicably, we come to our instinctive senses. Siu siu Laboratory of primitive senses is a studio set to explore the environmental transition between urban space and natural forest. Materials of no practical use, such as gloss, grass, Buddha statues, flowers, fragrances, sounds, yoga, along with other existence of spirituality, are employed as a healing process to convert the digital to the analog.。
An architectural concept farm based upon a net house, a common agricultural facility in Taiwan, which functions as a balancing mechanism to adjust the natural environment for the crops inside. The forest foliage and structure’s synthetic netting are able to block out 60-80 percent of the subtropical light while keeping the space ventilated to create a work space with a microclimate perfect for both people and plants alike.
In 2014 Siu Siu won the ADA Emerging Architect award for natural design. During our afternoon chill, let us take you on a special tour through this beautiful space.
