You must be a Yankee. In real English, a toboggan is something you pull over your head when it’s cold.[/quote]
You pull a wooden sled over your head when you get cold? Damn, that’s hardcore.

I had a Creepy Crawlers set too. I recall not liking it because it was too much like working in a foundry.
I am surprised that the ubiquitous wood-burning set was not included. Perhaps not as prone to producing injury in and of itself, the thing always caused injury from a parent tarring the hide of a child who, bored with burning whatever mindless junk you were “supposed” to burn, turned to other, more interesting subjects, like doors and coffee tables, and then non-wooden objects like plastic drinking glasses, linoleum tile flooring and your sister’s arm.
Wolf’s back. :bravo: Stick around.
I agree with so many of the above. Never had the joy of lawn darts – those sound great – but i’ve gotten cuts from sledding, burns from creepy crawlers, contusions from clackers, welts from bb guns, and almost killed by cars on skateboards. But I’d agree with MJB on the #1 hazard. I remember the thrill of plummetting down this huge hill on our skateboards, totally out of control, with the boards wobbling from speed and bumping crazily on loose gravel as we flew down past various cross-streets where we prayed that no car would suddenly appear because if it did, there was no way we could possibly stop or avoid it, as we were simply holding on for dear life till the crazy ride hit the bottom and slowed down. I never learned to ride the board properly.
Yup…got that one - but maybe because so many of us grew up with guns, nothing bad ever came out of it. More people got hurt by the Big Wheel w/ spinout bar.

Every boy should get one of these for his first birthday.
When I was seven a Zulu guy made me a “kettie” (Y shaped sling shot. Y made from good wood and the band made fro good 'ole rubber with a leather pouch for stones.) for Christmas. Best gift I ever got. Shot birds, annoying poodles (don’t tell straydog) and Afrikaans speaking neighbors.
