180 days visitor Visa Germany, no extension needed?

Hey guys,

I am for two month in Taiwan now and want to stay another three until end of August. I am here on a “Visitor Visa with special remark” read Student Visa as I study Chinese at Wenhua.

So far I was under the impression that I have to extend my Visa after three month, but I noticed, that unter “Duration of Stay” it says: 180 days.

Wouldn’t that mean, that I can stay for up to 6 month without the need for a Visa extension?

We had different regulations 2 years back, when I was in Taiwan for the first time, I still remember that I had “60 days” on my Visa that time and had to apply for Visa extension every 2 month.

Now I am really unsure if I really dont have to apply this time, because it just seems like such a ridiculously generous duration. ^^

Under Remarks it only says: FR + the name of the University.

I kindly ask for your confirmation that I am fine without an extension.

I would favor the 180 day stay meaning 180 days stay as it is.

Right, otherwise it would say 90 days, if I have to extend after that time period right? I was just very uncertain, because everybody was starring at me in disbelieve when I showed them my passport, because they said they never heard of such a long student Visa.

And I have to be careful to not violate my schools Visa extension permission conditions like not being absent from class to often if I would need the extension.

I am confused because I cannot find anything about a 180 day Visa on the Internet, everywhere I read that people have to extend after 90 days.

The duration of stay should be valid, but for peace of mind you could check with your school or even better check with the immigration people.
