2 ferrets for adoption

Hi,

I have been here two years and have two ferrets (a boy and a girl), they are about a year and a half old. One is brown and very friendly the other is white and not as friendly, but beautiful. I am leaving in March and will take them with me, if I cannot find them a good home, but I think they would be happier being adopted and staying here. I am willing to give them free to a good home, and will answer any questions that you have, but please remember ferrets are a unique pet that need a lot of space (they have free roam of my room and are potty trained) and attention. They are super intelligent and need mental stimulation. They are both spayed/neutered and up to date on shots. If you are sincerely interested please feel free to respond and tell me a little about yourself and why you want to adopt them. Thanks.

I had ferrets (rescued) back in England. They really are very entertaining and affectionate companion animals. Mine would walk on leashes.

Just a tip: don’t offer them free to a good home. It may seem like the best way to get them adopted, but it’s also the best way to get them adopted into a home that isn’t willing to invest a little in their care; worse, we need to be careful of bunchers, who are people that give a very good impression of themselves but are in fact looking to profit from taking your beloved animals and selling them on to a situation that would horrify you, and one that you would have no way of knowing about once you left.

Ask for an adoption fee, to cover what you spent on responsible animal care (neutering, shots, etc.) If you like, donate it to an animal rescue group, but take the money. In my experience, the worst adoptions have developed where no adoption fee was asked.

And good luck. I hope they get to come with you. I deeply regret leaving mine behind in the UK, when I thought I would be back in a couple of months.
