I’m leaving Taipei for two weeks at the end of July, and I’m looking for a place that I can leave the little monsters at. All the vets and pet shops that I have approached say that they only take cats and dogs.
It’s freaky having something that’s so dependent on one, isn’t it?
:help:
Guinea pig love, eh? Is that kind of like gerbilling then?
Where d’you live? I guess I could take them for a couple of weeks, but you’d have to bring them down to Bitan. Are they friendly? Used to getting out of their cage, etc? Able to go toe-to-toe with cats?
(Don’t worry, the cat’s don’t get upstairs in our house.)
Oh, and another very important point. Do they make that “oink oink” sound that some caveys make? I always find that dead cute.
That is a cool offer, and I’ll consider it if I can’t find a pet shop type place. I really don’t want to inconvenience anybody, and my guinea pigs are not at all very social.
They don’t bite, and they like to run around on the balcony, but they are very timid. Maybe they just don’t like me. And they’ll pee and poop on you, they’re not potty-trained.
They will do the wheet wheet wheet thing though, and they don’t really have to try hard to look very cute. But that’s about it. Pretty useless they are.

I’m in Taipei. Where is Bitan? Another reason I wanted a pet shop is that they’ve got a bunch of small cages that I stuck together, which will be hard to move.
Them’s good eatin’.
twonavels, if you’re still looking, we’d take them for two weeks. We’ve got a garden they could run around in a little and two little boys that would surely enjoy taking care of them. We used to have guinea-pigs, so we know how to handle them. We do have a cat as well, but she’s also quite timid, I don’t think there would be a problem for an occasional stroll outside their cages. We’re in Tianmu, PM me if you’re interested … Xpet.
So, you want to attract even bigger snakes to your yard…
Michael, not quite, you shouldn’t scare poor twonavels like this! The guinea-pigs, if they were to stay with us, would of course be inside the house. We have a separate small guest house/room which they could occupy for those two weeks, we wouldn’t want them to become a part of our local food-chain here …
Twonavels, our offer stands, but I guess that put you off, can’t blame you for it … good luck with your piggies! Xpet.
I can also take your little quinea pigs. I’m in Banchiao, its the Blue line, Hsinpu Station. If i’m close to you, then i’m willing to take them.
