2005 Super 12 Rugby Season

yes… so the brumbies still have a huge chance of wining. again.

it’s spelt ‘whining’. Canterbury will be doing the winning. again.

Body-painting support for the kiwi teams:

After studying the subject matter thoroughly, I feel the Crusaders and Blues are showing fine form. :bravo:  :notworthy:

Well the Crusader spanked the Blues this weekend… leaving the Waratahs and the ACT Brumbies at the top of the ladder with the Crusader not far behind due to bons points. The South African Teams are nowhere again, with the Sharks putting in the worst displays of rugby.

the latest results…

(I support Crusaders/Blues/Highlanders). Kiwi teams make up 4 of the top 6-SA teams are struggling so far…

Re: Chiefs vs Sharks…what a boring game. It was the first Super 12 game I’ve seen this season. Stephen Donald seemed to be the only one playing to his potential.

:sunglasses: DAMN it was good seeing the Bulls (and I’m not even a supporter) run all over the Crusaders this weekend!
And although the Stormers played probably the most atrocious rugby I’d ever seen, they managed to win, too.

For the Kiwi supporters there’ll be a good game this Friday at 3.30pm…

Canes v’s Highlanders

It’ll be a good chance to watch these players:

Jerry & Rodney against Blackie, Newby, Miller, to watch Weepu, Mapasua/Tuitivake against Umaga & Smith (wonder where Nonu will be played)

NZ has a good chance to get three teams into the Semifinals this year and this game is crucial for both teams.

Since the Lions are coming in a month or so, someone had better start a thread on that. My prediction is for All Blacks 3-0 Lions, and then for the All Blacks to sweep the Grand Slam in Europe in November, while retaining the Bledisloe. 3N? Well, could be difficult, even though we are obviously playing better than Wobblies/Boks this year.

All in all, action packed year for AB supporters with many games.

I’ll be recording the games on my satellite receiver hard drive…

What a come back by the BULLS.
Go GO GO!!!

The Hurricane-Brumbies game was awesome. I’m not just saying that because I’m biased towards the Hurricanes either. Halftime 20-20 Fulltime Hurricanes 49 Brumbies 35. A hat trick scored by Ma’a Nonu.

I missed it, but I heard it was good…Nonu scored a hatrick in 10 minutes or something amazing…and that Smith showed some good steps/passing. Centre/2nd-five is one of two areas of concern with the Lions tour imminent…the other being lock. I’m hoping for Kelleher/Carter/Rok/Tana/Smith/Howlett/Mils starting line-up…but could accept Gear at wing-although think Howlett’s experience is more valuable, and Nonu will be utility reserve, with Mehrtens & Marshall

Here’s the latest standings, two weeks to go…very close…
Waratahs 9 7 - 2 270 146 8 36
Crusaders 9 7 - 2 392 248 6 35
Hurricanes 9 7 - 2 241 198 2 30
Highlanders 9 6 1 2 200 156 1 27
Blues 9 6 - 3 213 169 2 26
Bulls 9 5 - 4 203 198 5 25

Brumbies 9 4 - 5 194 219 5 21
Chiefs 9 4 - 5 231 214 4 20
Reds 9 3 - 6 156 217 5 17
Stormers 8 2 1 5 142 188 4 14
Cats 9 1 - 8 186 281 6 10
Sharks 9 1 - 8 168 341 4 8

And here are the games this weekend, Taiwan time:

I’m a little sad not to see the hurricanes higher but still the fact they’ve made it near the top is good.

Crusaders or Warratahs? It may be the tall poppy syndrome but I hope the Warratahs.

Unfortunately I can’t watch the final as we’re away in Miaoli helping out at the dog sanctuary, but I plan on wearing my Red and Black Jersey at some point.

You’re kidding right? A Kiwi supporting an Aussie team over a NZ team? :fume: :noway:

Crusaders for sure. By at least 15. Should be a good game.

BTW, I’ll be getting a video of Jonah’s match-the testimonial for Matin Johnson. I’m dead keen to see it, but don’t have a VHS player. If anyone wants to help, please let me know. I might also ask the Tavern if they can help.
