2006 taxes- when should I ask for my tax receipt?

I’m basically working in Taiwan and waiting for my 183 days to pass so I can get my taxes back next year (I figure it will be worth the money in the end)

So does anyone have any advice about the tax receipt? Can I demand one now so I can have it before I leave the country in August, or should I wait until tax season next year and somehow get ahold of my school and ask them for one?

My school likes to play dumb on things, so I just want to be clear on when I have the right to receive my receipt. I worry that next year when I’m in Canada, they will pretend they have forgotten me (which I think they have done before), and not give me the receipt, and I’ll be helpless in Canada.

any advice is appreciated! thanks!

Hi,
You’ll probably you need to wait untill
a) Next year around tax time.
b) you give notice ask for the slips.

They have no reson to give them to you unless a and b apply.

Ok thanks, so that means if they refuse to give me my receipt when I leave in August, then there’s nothing I can do about it until tax season next year (and I can’t demand it?)? (just want to clarify :stuck_out_tongue: ) me-> :loco:
