What does “trail” mean? Totally off-road? And how many meters of ascend? Is it compulsory to wear a helmet? I’d rather not … And is it possible to rent bikes somewhere?
totally on road…this is not a mountain biking event. and virtually flat i guess. they don’t seem to be enforcing helmets which is strange. i doubt bike rental is very feasible but some giant stores do rent bikes. there are buses running from taipei overnight to the event.
Did anyone find the detail map of the routes? (Google maps etc?, elevations?)
I wonder if it is feasible to ride the long route at a recreational speed (20-30km/h)

totally feasible. this is a fun ride i.e. non-competitive. you have 8 hours to complete so average speed needed is 16 km/h. if you ride at 30 km/h you will probably win.
The link does not show any English page any longer (although it used to!). Is registration still possible? I still don’t know where to get a bike from anyway
