2yr cell phone contract cancellation fee

anyone know the typical cancellation fee on a 2year cell phone contract? I’m assuming all the big carriers (chunghwa, FET, etc) have similar plans…

Thanks in advance!

It’s pro-rated based on your contract details and on how much of the contract was fulfilled. Why don’t you just ask your service provider? They’ll tell you the exact amount.

First check: you will need an ARC to enter into any plan, at least without a lot of looking and a lot of luck.

If you only need a plan and already have the phone, do note that there are month-to-month options available at the major carriers that have both a lower deposit and no cancellation penalty.

If you are looking to get a phone subsidized, as Robin mentioned, it depends on plan, how long into the contract you will be canceling and what phone (if any) you are having subsidized. If you are planning on being here for a period that’s long enough but less than 2 years, and given the disparity in pricing for data plans between paid and prepaid however, getting into a plan with the intent of canceling early and paying the fee may be optimal for your situation…
