30 Day Non-extendable visas

I want to work in Taiwan, but I came on a non-extendable Visa because the Malaysian Taiwan visa office were being bastards.
Can I actually apply for a job while I am here on this 30 day non extendable visa and present the forthcoming beaurocratic stuff to the visa office in Hong Kong and get the work permit there?
Or am I able to apply for a job first, the go to Hong Kong and grab a 60 day Visitor Visa and await the completion process when I come back?

And Hong Kong. What’s the score on Visa runs? Are they helpful there or have they all got faces like they are chewing a wasp? Where is the office anyway, and what are the processing times for a visa to a UK passport?

Thanks in anticipation for your help, guys.

If you act fast and have ample grounds, you can get your non-extendable visitor’s visa replaced by an extendable one or a resident visa without leaving Taiwan. Otherwise, you need to leave the country, get another visitor visa (hopefully a 60-day extendable one if you can show someone wants to employ you), then come back to Taiwan and finish your application. Overseas offices of the ROC (Taiwan) won’t give you a resident visa and they can’t give you a work permit or residence permit - they only issue visas.

To get a Taiwan visa in Hong Kong, go the the Chunghua Travel Service, which is on the 14th floor of the Lippo Tower, which is on Hong Kong Island near the Star Ferry Central Terminal.
