Czech police investigate railway bridge theft

PRAGUE, Feb 18, 2008 (AFP) — Police in the western Czech border town of Cheb have launched an investigation into the theft of a four-tonne railway bridge.

“We are not sure if it was taken for personal use or for its scrap value,” police spokeswoman Martina Hruskova told AFP. “It is the first time we have dealt with this type of theft.”

The company charged with looking after the bridge, which was on a disused stretch of track near the town, raised the alarm, Hruskova said.[/quote]

That’s crazy.

4 tonne railway bridge… It must be a very, very short bridge. A locomotive probably weighs ten times that much.

I started out stealing manhole covers for scrap and it led to this. Can anyone help me? I’ve started hanging around in this shipyard at night and I’m afraid what I might do next. :help:

And if you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you.

But they move, so they are harder to dismantle.
