60 day visitor visa

Applied and received a 60 day visitor visa for multiple entries. Just want to know, if I want to stay longer than 60 days in order to find work, is the extension process easy? How much would the fee cost, and how much longer of time frame could it be extended into.

Extensions are possible but quite difficult.

“Looking for work” is not generally one of the reasons the NIA will accept for extending a visitor visa. The only one I know of that is pretty solid is studying Chinese for a minimum of 15 hours/week in an approved school. Other’s I’ve heard of being accepted are if you are visiting Taiwanese relatives or doing missionary work.

EDIT: There is no fee for extension.

When I used to do this, they extended it month-by-month for a total of 6 months, before I had to leave and come back. Each time, I had to take documentation from the language school to prove I was attending classes.

CraigTPE,

Well, I have few relatives in Taiwan, if it is extended month by month up to six months, how are the process of getting it extended, do I need to go by AIT in-person each time?
