7-11 sees the light

Have had a few episodes with the deadly “Carlsberg Elephant” beer.

Nothing I remember, but it always seemed to leave brusing on various body parts.

Did you know the design on cans of Stella is embossed? Gives a very satisfying hand-feel to it.

These things matter.
Yeah, it isn’t sticking to my hand like really cold beer cans do.

So that takes care of the first 10 minutes of your tonight’s session. What are you moving on to after the Corona?
But…but…I like it…Well, I like whatever is on sale at 7-11.

Come on, buy the Stella so we can keep her as a standard choice. I am sorry that I am slow, but so far, I have bought only 10 cans since yesterday. I will try to improve…

Two nights running I have followed Sandman’s guide. I have a similar ritual; when waiting for take-out food I nip into a convenience store and down a brew whilst waiting for my food. I found the Stella Artois and had my very first taste. If it’s this good in a can it must be great on tap. And for $63 it’s a bargain. Thanks for the tip Sandman. :bravo:

Hear, hear! I had the future brother-in-law in for a Cold One tonight and future mother-in-law asked him what kind of beer it was and he said “Bar Beer” and I thought to myself, “What kind of host and future bro-in-law would I be if I gave you fffff Bar Beer.” It was Stella, I told them, Stella Artois, and pointed out the great looking can and, yes, embossed label. It may have been lost on FBIL but if he comes around some more I’ll eventually learn him. Or try to. (At his house it’s Brown bottle Taipi all the way, bless 'im. ← supposed to be him without the ‘h’ … '-i-m … now what’s up with that word censor thingy??)

Been enjoying it for three nights now and novelty has yet to wear off. No real inclination to beat the future wife after being on the Stella. Hope same is true for you chaps here.

Like X3M says, do your part!

Damn, people … now I’ve to go and by a Stella … all these posts about embossed cans and good beer … hmmm … it’s been ages … but to be honest, I never liked Stella in Belgium … it always gave me brain pains next morning … or was it because I had to many of them :s

The Boddingtons cans make a noise when you shake them after you’ve emptied your can.

It’s not an ice cube.

Some hypermarkets in Taichung were selling $49/bottle Pilsner Urquell! Ho! Ho!

On top of that, Breeze Supermarket(Taipei) is selling Fruh (Kolsch), Budvar Budweiser, Oettinger Pils and of course Jever. There are other yummy beers there as well.

7-11 dropped the ball years ago, when it discontinued its Lowenbrau Pils.

A Sad Fate, the same as Holsten, Golden Fassl and Bitburger; good beers that have all come and gone from Taiwan.

Not a beer drinker myself … but I did try the new sandwiches. Not bad, but in typical Taiwanese sandwich style, they were quite stingy on the fillings. The bread wasn’t bad though. I had the shrimp one and the club one.

The subs ain’t great, but their sure to shit better than some of the other fare that is offered in the refridgerated section. I just hope they last and don’t go the way of the dodo like so many 7-11 products with short lifespans.

I would never even consider drinking Becks in Germany, however, alas,…

Sandman, you need a hip flask.
Then you can pop to the bogs for a quick nip anytime you like.

that will be the widget…

…don’t fiddle with it, or it may explode…

A widget looks harmless to me. I don’t think widget could be a suspect.

Cartoons don’t lie. Roadrunners go ‘beep beep’.

Those damned Widgets are at it again…

I was thinking “You lucky Taipei Bastards,” until I went down the hill in Yang Mei tonight and found Mr Boddington’s and Ms Stella hanging out in the Sev’.
Yeah, sippin on a cold Stella now! Whooo!

FYI, 7-11 now has Cool Ranch Doritos!!! Limited time only.

They are actually called “Cooler Ranch”. I mentioned them in the S&V thread awhile ago. Expect them to disappear anytime.

Yeah, I really missed that 7-11 dodo. Perfect after work snack. The gong bao dodo ding flavor was the best.

Still pissed about Gatorade going, too.
