Our tribe took advantage of the gorgeous weather last Sunday to indulge in an extremely pleasant Dogs Day Out.
Thought we’d share some pics with you…
Anyone recognize the location? How many dogs can you count?
(*Despite the obvious good looks of the canine participants
, all are rejects from society… Most we rescued/saved ourselves, and some we adopted from others who had rescued them. The two biggest are not yet one year old.
One was to be killed three days after birth because his colour was not right, the other at around 8 months, because he couldn’t walk. Only one didn’t make it for this outing. He was otherwise engaged at the beach.

And maybe someone recognizes this guy:

Wine and cheese stop

And home…

Wow!!! Beautiful dogs, fantastic work!!
Are these wonderful furry friends now yours?? Or are they up for adoption?
I ask because i helped rehabilitate a Bernese Mountain dog and when i put her up for adoption i was inundated with wonderful people who had been waiting to adopt a Bernese Mountain dog, so if you need help posting AnimalsTaiwan can help.
Also the German Shepherd, we just adopted out a 2 year old boy, and his adopter has a friend who is also looking for a German sheperd. so please PM me if you are interested.
Well done though. Lovely big dogs.
Yes, well, Ukbikerchic, that friend of the adopter would also be a friend of mine
Don’t you recognize the dog? He looks a little different I guess. Put on a little weight and muscle, teeth are white white white, got a spring in his step and a sparkle in his eye… Still got a few kgs to go.

The Bernese Bros are NOT up for adoption.
Once you let one of these into your heart, they will never let you go. I hand reared the larger (younger!) one from three days old… and of course I told everyone we’d one day be looking for a home for him - knowing absolutely from day one that day will never come. We got the other one - Officially named T2 - a few months ago, against our better judgement and will, intending to rehome him as soon as he could walk. However, after rehabbing him, and helping him learn to overcome the totally debilitating phobias he had to do with learned helplessness (he wouldn’t go through doors, gates, cross bridges etc etc, anything that faintly resembled a barrier) and finding out what an incredibly sweet heart he has, and discovering how happy the two cousins are when they can be together… and because the two of them make GREAt gate ornaments and and and
No… he won’t be leaving us either. They both came from the same breeder though - both times I accidentally met him at my vets asking to have a dog put down - and I think it probably won’t be the last I hear from him. He has around 20 of them I think. Not too bad of a guy as breeders go - most of the dogs live in the house with him and are pets/show dogs. Next time he has a dog he wants to “terminate” - and there will be a next time - I think he’ll probably call us. So you’ll definitely be first on my list of people to call if/when that happens.
All these dogs are our permanent family, except for the littlest black one, who we just picked up this summer as a babe on the road. We thought we had an adoptee for her, and it fell through. However, after a certain point in time, unless there is a reason why they just don’t fit here, they begin to morph from being fosters to being family. And she’s just about reached that point, at a time when our current population is within our limits. So she’s probably a keeper too.
Oh UKbikerchic, forgot to say: the friend who was looking for a GSD has just found and adopted a young doberman cross instead. He was at the vets with a broken leg. She decided to take him because she thinks no-one else is likely to adopt him as his ears have been mutilated. Some idiot decided to give him “proper Doberman” ears and pretty much cut them off. :fume: poor guy.
Anyway, at least he has found a good home, and she is really happy.
You know as soon as i pressed post i went “ahhhhh” that’s Brady!!! I’m sending all the photos to the previous foster mom to show her how well he’s doing.
These dogs are sooo beautiful all of them. You’ve done a fantastic job. I love the BM dog with the special face markings, so striking.
The BM dog i helped rehabilitate also couldn’t walk when she was rescued. but she recieved acupuncher and was great after her skin got better. I also wanted to keep her, but i try to keep 2 spaces open for fostering, which i believe has now gone down to one space. I have 9 dogs here at the moment. Officially 3 of them are up for adoption, however, Birch the 3 legged dog has settled into our family so that’s going to be hard, and Dorris is too old really for anyone to adopt 17 years. Diana the british bulldog however is up for adoption, i have to save one place so i can keep helping, or i’m gonna turn into the crazy dog lady
well done again , can’t wait to visit, just need to find the time.
great pictures! I wish my cats were up for a hike
