A few small biz legal and postal questions

Am starting research on buying some local trinkets and selling online. Wondering the following:

  1. I have shipped packages home before, but for biz purposes I would need to insure packages and speed up timeframe. Anyone know a postal site in English?

  2. The legal aspects (if any) of buying some small trinkets from a store here and selling them online. I know this questions is really general, but like I said, I am just starting the research now. So any tips would be great.

Thanks,
D

I’ve had pretty good luck with the postal service. I sell small and lightweight items and they can get to the US in as little as six days (the post office says 7-10 days) via Registered Air Mail (requires a signature on receipt) for about NT80. When I need to ship faster, the same small package can ship via Express Mail (3-4 days) for NT$430.

Also, in case you don’t know this, you can buy shipping boxes very reasonably at the post office.

There are almost no laws restricting international mail orders. In other words, you are just as exposed as your customers.
