A Gay Escort and a Mighty Big Bush

Just read the article, or any others on the topic not in The Washington Times, from Fox News or from Ann/Rush rants.

I did and I still do not understand what the big deal is about. Is there some hint that Bush or anyone on his team somehow gave this man his credentials knowing about his other identity as a gay male prostitute? and on the site that I did read, Salon?, they breathlessly suggested that this was linked to the Valeria Plame thing (why because she was “outed” too in a different way so to speak?) but gave no evidence or clear picture of just how it was that they were connected. I am still totally unclear as to what this is all about or why any of us should give a shit.

so bush planned for a gay whore to ask softball questions at news conferences?

Er that’s my question too Flipper. I am at a total loss to understand what if anything this thread is about but I am assured that something is a foot though on the site that the salon.com linked to, he claims it is only an eight incher.

Hmmmmmm. Which should I be worried about?

 1. A possible homosexual in the White House Press Corps

or

 1. Western homosexuals teaching children in Taiwan

Wow. I can’t decide.

Comrade Stalin:

Do you have any idea how exactly this is supposed to be related to Valerie Plame other than I guess she was “outed” too? Is there a connection? Inquiring minds want nay demand to know!

Gannon is a DNC plant. He receives telepathic messages from Telos. His real name is Goldstein. See? The Joooooos are behind it all.

(I’ve decided to play conspiracy theory! )

I wonder if both Gannon AND Plame are Jewish too. You see then it would all make sense because that is why we attacked Iraq was to save the Jews. And the only wmds were the kinds the two of them were hiding under the sheets…

Normally the White House has. It is usually a very difficult thing to get White House press accreditation, but this guy strolls right on in and gets a completely free ride. Why? Because he’ll publish anything that the Bush administration give him … using press releases as entire sections of his articles. When he asks questions, to call them “softball” questions is unfair to softball players – more accurate to call them “T-ball” questions in that they had all the appearance of pre-arranged questions.

The fact that he’s a whore (and whoring of the sexual type is illegal in nearly all states) is only significant in that it shows the laughable Bush-administration desperation to sign on anybody they can get to help them spin their usual crap.

Are there rules about press accreditation? Yes. Did the Bush administration take a massive deviation from the normal security and background checks in order to let this guy into White House briefings? Yes. Was this guy an objective journalist? Not by any account.

Fred, could you just imagine if this had happened when Clinton was in the White House? The Republicans would be going apeshit.

He may not, because he seems to be busy right now with other questions.

However, Fred, try this on for size:
Newsday reported on March 6, 2004, that when the federal grand jury investigating the leak of the identity of CIA covert operative Valerie Plame subpoenaed White House records on contacts with many journalists, Gannon was among them. Froomkin explained in his March 10, 2004, column that “the reason Gannon is on the list is most likely an attempt to find out who gave him a secret memo that he mentioned in an interview he had with Plame’s husband, former ambassador and administration critic Joseph Wilson.” Froomkin continued:

Gannon asked Wilson: "An internal government memo prepared by U.S. intelligence personnel details a meeting in early 2002 where your wife, a member of the agency for clandestine service working on Iraqi weapons issues, suggested that you could be sent to investigate the reports. Do you dispute that?"

According to a December Washington Post story by Mike Allen and Dana Milbank, "Sources said the CIA is angry about the circulation of a still-classified document to conservative news outlets suggesting Plame had a role in arranging her husband's trip to Africa for the CIA. The document, written by a State Department official who works for its Bureau of Intelligence and Research (INR), describes a meeting at the CIA where the Niger trip by Wilson was discussed, said a senior administration official who has seen it."

On top of being secret, CIA officials said it was wrong.

On March 9, 2004, Talon News also reported that it “learned that one of the journalists being targeted [in the federal grand jury investigation of the Plame leak] is Jeff Gannon.”
But we have known about this matter for quite some time. Looking at the timeline here, we have been discussing this ourselves long before March 2004. Without an accurate picture of whether Gannon knew something before the rest of us or was just asking questions based on what we all know is a very different matter.

no, republicans are allowed to make jokes about trailer trash. only democrats are allowed to gleefully out gays in public office and gloat over their downfall.

Also, this New York Times article is worth reading if you are still confused about why this story matters, and what isn’t adding up.

nytimes.com/2005/02/11/polit … annon.html
“This is a guy who could not get credentialed by the House or the Senate press galleries, and yet managed to get into the White House and question the president” and have access to a top-secret document.

He added: “To imply he has no connection to the White House is just not credible.”
Yes, I still feel sorry for that Paula Jones. Remember her and the remark that by Clinton’s attorney that all he had to do to find people like her was troll a $50 bill through a trailer park.

Now, what is there to be outraged about? Just because some gay prostitute got into the White House. Hell look at the circus freaks that actually stayed in the Lincoln Bedroom during Clinton’s years. Take Arafat for example, who while not a gay prostitute certainly knew a lot about them apparently.

so again, what is there to be outraged about? This person had a separate identity which was a gay male prostitute. He real identity checked out. Shall we look into the recreational activities of all the press who cover the White House. I would very much be supportive of doing so. I am sure that we could learn a lot about what goes on in the Real World. After all, these journalists get to ask all the tough questions about other people’s sex and private lives. Why not them? Hmmm?

That said, I still struggle to see how any of this matters. but be sure and try to work that magic.

We’d be quite awhile down this timeline by the time an investigation subpoena’s documents.

Well, you obviously haven’t seen the uncensored photos of Guckert.

From the same article.

Again, so what if he saw the documents with Valerie Plame’s name? By this time she had been outed so what’s the big deal? Are they suggesting he saw these documents BEFORE she was outed and that he was responsible for doing so and that he was placed into this position by the White House or administration staff? Is anyone saying this?

still waiting to hear exactly what was planned and who was caught.

Right, and let’s not forget that Repulicans can invent gasp gay affairs, multi-racial lovechildren, and mental illness for those they’re against as well, including one of their own, John McCain.

Ever heard of the push-polling that was done that implied that John McCain’s adopted Bangladeshi daughter was his illegitimatly? Or that he’d had gay affairs at the Hanoi Hilton? Or that he was mentally unstable? Well, that was a Bush/Rove technique that helped marginalize McCain and consolidated Bush’s lead in the GOP nominations.
