A good Japanese language primer online

I’m looking for a book that teaches grammar and vocabulary in one volume, from the most basic level to a fairly advanced one. That makes use of detailed texts of gradually increasing difficulty - repeating the characters used in the previous lesson, so that time wasted using a dictionary is minimal. A textbook containing texts of medium length that are also interesting, which would make studying it less of a bore.

Does anyone know of anything like this (preferably online, since I’m in the middle of nowhere 共匪-land, where nothing can be delivered to me easily - and where textbooks for English-speakers are virtually unavailable)?

If this is a virtually non-existant Holy Grail, then any other suggestions of books for studying Japanese would be welcome. Although I’d prefer to be able to have such a thing today, I can always buy later, when I’ll probably be in Taiwan.

Thanks.

An aquaintence runs White Rabbit Press in Japan. If you don’t see anything suitable on the site, drop him a line and see if he can help. Tell him Katrina in Taiwan suggested you contact him.

Thanks. Where I am, I can’t order anything there at the moment, but yeah looks like they have a nice range of books.

Any specific Japanese book(s) you’d recommend yourself?

Or anyone else here?
