A small victory

So yesterday I’m wanting to turn left into a side road and I am waiting at a set of traffic lights. Opposite me there is a long queue of cars waiting patiently for the lights to turn green.
A taxi then emerges from behind the queue, races down the wrong side of the road and attempts to get through the red light.

My bike is on the line (a double yellow) but still in the box. The taxi cannot get through because the road is quite narrow and there is a parked car at the junction so he stops, leans out of the window and gestures me to move out of the way so he can get his fat arse through.

Having a natural and in-built disgust for people like this I move to the left slightly to make it even more difficult for him to get through, so his reaction is to drive right up to my wheel.

Of course, I don’t move.

The lights change. He doesn’t move. I don’t move…so he calls the police on his cell phone. :bravo:
The police come 20 minutes later and he explains everything.

He gets irate as the police check his licence, but not mine :big grin:

We wait. I smile.

He gets stroppy as I explain that his parking sucks. He tells me foreigners shouldn’t be allowed to drive in Taiwan because we are dangerous and don’t know how to drive

He suddenly realises that he is a fat pleb:

Anyway, the police invite he and I to the station where I make a quick report. He gets issued a ticket for running the red and crossing the double yellow.

Amazing - he is in such a hurry to get somewhere that he will pass a long queue of traffic, attempt to run a red and then go through all this malarky.

Can’t tell you how happy your post makes me.

THAT is great.

Sell it to the Apple.

Awesome. Made my day.

But having said that, you’re lucky he called the cops and not 20 of his buddies… :s

Is that the fastest classic post ever??

classic!! well done old boy

I dunno. Hate to be the contrarian here, but Taiwan traffic requires a little social greese, even if it is a little leeway for a taxi pulling a fast one. It’s all about keeping everything moving.

I love his lipstick, btw.

:bravo: :bravo: Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah ! :bravo: :bravo:

Have to disagree. A minor disruption for a major moral victory. Plus, you smell. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey! Fat plebs have feelings too!

. . . and I was just thinking how lovely I smelll. In fact I was thinking how much like a Thai laundry I smell and pondering the wisdom of Miss Huang making me lug back 10 kilos of Thai ironing spray last time I returned from Bangkok.

Well done Dangermouse, I applaud you. :bravo: Good thing you put up a pic of his license plate and mugshot. Now I know which taxi to specifically avoid. I’m sure he’s going to be on a run every waigouren off the road rampage now.

Beautiful. Just beautiful.

Very well done!..I’ll be linking this to home for sure!
