A380 takes off (was: First pictures of completed Airbus A..)

I wonder how much it’s going to cost the airports to rebuild their departure lounges??? And think how long it’s going to take to get seated. I think I’ll pass. This thing looks more like an air-going Titanic. And we know how well that went.

OK, now I’ve seen it all. Flaming someone for his fucking AIRCRAFT preferences? WTF? :unamused:
Hey, Doraemon! I think Wego buses are WAAAAY better than Leader buses and if you don’t agree you can kiss my ass!

lol it’s unbelievable how this forum sucks :noway:

You should rename it and replace Taiwan-Orientated online community by american-Orientated online community. It’ll be more realistic

Look hairy monkey, Airbus is a fine a/c. They are making very wise moves and gaining a strong market share.
Boeing is an established marque. They have a position in the industry that is not going to be removed.
The A350 has NO orders on the book at this time.
They expect/hope to pull maybe 50 orders at Junes Paris Airshow. meanwhile Boeing already has 58 7E7 orders on the books.
Just the facts.
Boeing just cancelled the 717 which was an MD-95 pre-McDonnell-Douglas - Boeing merger. This shared the market with the A318 and its likely that the A318 will follow it into the grave.
Airbus has offered China Aerospace Industries a 5% risk-sharing in the development of the A350. This sounds like they are still not sure they wish to assume the risk of bringing this a/c to market.
Also, even though some major freight carriers, UPS for example, want the A380, UPS has also CANCELLED 37 of the 50 remaining A300-600F orders they have on the books. A big blow to Airbus.
Also, UPS is till talking with Boeing about their 747-200LR for future needs.
So it is premature to rule Boeing out of the game.

OK, I think I get it.

Boeing = American
Airbus = European

My God. :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Has the proto-type been in the air yet?

10 orders for the freight version (ordered by UPS), for the passenger version they have 159 orders (or maybe more by now).

Not yet. The first flight is scheduled for April and there will be a total of 4 prototypes.

Not yet. Should be starting 13 months of flight tests around the end of March this year. There will be 4 A380s doing the tests.
1st deliveries to Singapore Airlines sometime after that.

Amazing…

Airbus currently has 10 orders for the A380.
Boeing 7E7 has 58 orders for thir Dreamliner.
Interesting point, but…

Airbus has 139 orders for A380, split out on 13 customers. (as per December 31)

Boeing 7E7 is at 126 airplanes.

As mentioned elsewhere, the 7E7 will be a small 200 passenger plane, whereas the A 380 will start from 555 seats.

it looked really nice
cant wait to take a shower after the work out during the flight
come to Toulouse and see yourself…

Mr. He -
Thank you for the additional input.
My data is industry figures showing Deliveries - orders - changes - net prders for years 2003 and 2004 seprately for comparison of Airbus and Boeing. (also backlogs for 2003)
These #'s are from the week 18-24 Jan 2005 issue of Flight International, an industry magazine published weekly.
I have not looked at the most recent Aviation Week & Space Technology to check but I will see if it has anything relevant to this.
If you have a link or reference to other numbers I will certainly look at those also.
China Air is saying they want to buy a bunch of A380’s, but as of this afternoon no actual committment has been made as far as I know.
For years 2003 & 2004 the main seller for Airbus and Boeing were the A320 and the 737 respectively.
Yes, I am aware of the differences of the 2 a/c, but as they are the ‘latest and greatest’ they are what the industry is using for company comparison purposes.
Both are unique a/c filling niche markets.
And I don’t even want to get into Embraer, Bombardier and the other regional jet manufacturers…lol.
