Abercrombie & Fitch store

I know this is somewhat off the topic, but why is A&F so popular among Taipei men? Back in the states only gay guys wear them and proudly, consider the creator/designer is gay. I’ve never seen a guy back in the States (California to be precise) would even go inside an A&F store. This also applies to a LOT of hairstyle designers here are straight Taiwanese guys and I’ve never met one back in the States that is openly straight (not talking about barbershops).[/quote]

This is solely my opinion, but when people (both men and women) here in Taipei wear A&F, Hollister and/or American Eagle, they are sending out a message to you. It could be “I traveled halfway across the world to buy this shirt and they don’t sell it here in Taiwan” or “Look, I have money to buy expensive items from overseas”. A lot of the times it’s all about stature and what people see on the outside here (in Taipei).

I’ve been wearing A&F for awhile now, mostly their polo shirts for work and never knew that the designer was gay and that a very high population of gay men (in California) wear the brand. This does not stop me from wearing the brand though.

Lastly, a lot of Taiwanese men are much more metro compared to U.S. men. In Taipei specifically, please count how many guys are outside in their sweats, compared to almost anywhere in the states. That should give you a clear sign.

Since they decided to make all their shit smaller, Taiwanese men can now wear M and L sized T-shirts while looking less scrawny? I’m up to XL now and I’ve never, ever been described as a big guy. The reason why guys in Cali don’t wear them is probably because they can’t fit in them anymore. Well, that and the backlash from the CEO stating that their brand was only for cool (thin) kids. There was a petition on Change.org and a bunch of Hollywood A-listers calling for a boycott of their products. Their stock price has dropped 30% since then.

I guess I would call this one an illegal distributor. I think the goods are real.

There’s plenty of those sitting around Sogo area, especially the underground mall, if that’s what you’re looking for.

I’m surprised A&F is so popular here. There have been a number of scandals with A&F making racist ads/ comments in the USA, particularly ones that are racist against Asian people. It’s kind of like black people in the USA buying Tommy Hillfigger, event though he’s super racist. You’d think TW people would boycott A&F.

Hello ,
You can find Abercrombie store at Tainan, zhong shan Rd

Aberzombie and Itch

A&f & Hillfiger are racist? :loco:

An international brand that is going to be racist against asians or blacks. You have issues mate.

So two tshirt graphics made back in 2002 make the whole brand racist against asians? Even after they had publicly apoligized for them 12 years ago? It is kind of hard to believe a brand which is opening a ton of stores in Asia would still be so balsy to be so open about being racist, especially towards asians?

You seem like one of those oversensitive people that can’t seem to get the joke out of it, even if its a bad joke.

Now please post me your proof that Tommy Hillfiger is racist against blacks. It is hard to believe he is so open about being racist against blacks, but still has black models in every advertising campaign. Please explain your logic, or post two graphics datig from ten years ago to proof your point.

I remember those A&F shirts. When people started complaining about them, I rushed to the store and bought out the entire shelf selling those shirts before they were pulled. Then put them on ebay to make .... And I sure made!

Wow…you read an awful lot into it. Your earlier post seemed to have no knowledge of A&F’s previous “gaffs” shall we say. I was merely helping you connect the dots.
