I talked with Jeff once when he was a guest on a TV show I was a cameraman on. He does have great Chinese, though sometimes little imperfections creep in (of course we all make mistakes sometimes), but he doesn’t have a Chinese accent in English. I would think Igor has the tougher job, though, doing the news gig.

But Igor is lucky enough to be a language sponge!

I have spent nearly 5 years learning Chinese on and off - in Taiwan and in Australia… I cannot read characters and my spoken is lame indeed. Hats off to you folk that have mastered it, something I can only aspire to.

So that guy on the news is Igor…I wondered who that was. I rarely ever watch the news, so the first time I saw him was during Typhoon Mindulle.

I forgot - my tutor in Taiwan used to teach Jeff when he first arrived in Taiwan… she couldnt shut up about him… perfect example of how fab her method was… I thought she was a weirdo… all she talked about was politics and how evil the DPP was… interesting for erm, about 5 minutes, then it just drove me insane…
