The luxurious apartment building called Agora Tower or 陶朱隱園 Tao Zhu Yin Yuan is going to be build in Taipei by 2016 (estimation). Address would be No.68, Sung-Kao (松高) Rd., Hsin-Yin District.
It is designed by vincent callebaut, some famous french dude.
Its been posted before but I still think building is awesome and those apartment units look pretty cool too. Except for parking your can in the living room, it aint a love motel for crisesakes!
I think the green parapet doesn’t look too good, other than that it’s pretty awesome. Sorry if it has been posted before, I did do a search on agora tower and didn’t see a result.
Not exactly like the way it is rendered anyway. I thought the scooter parking area was pretty funny aswell as the emphasis on car parking. Overall a nice and exciting design though.
How the winds flow around such a structure is certainly interesting to model/imagine. Are you going to get some weird effects? How it reacts to Earthquakes is another point of interest. The core of the building may be pretty standard however.
Would have been nice to be really creative and integrate some kind of green wall -as in greenery- to work as insulation on such a modern design. That would have been clever.
Yep, I have no faith in the trees being there any time.
As to the quake factor… might be some funny design trick at play we do not know of.
Anything is better than that mounstruosity that is going up on the highway side of the Tobacco Factory. Hideous 70’s style glass box. Shiver, shiver.
Hey it goes both ways . In Taiwan there is a lot of inequality these days, they have always been careful not to flaunt their wealth in the locals faces though.
暴發戶 ain’t no class I ever heard of. Just the one unit for you then TM? Or maybe two so you have somewhere for the in-laws to slum it in when they come over from China…
If the wind comes from the side where the upper floors are protruding the lower floors, that could mean there is a lot of wind directed down to the lower floors. Would love to see the model in a wind tunnel.
