AI Video Generators (Veo-2, Sora, etc)

The guy even makes outtakes videos.

Sora is gone, model cost to much with little income
from AI search:

OpenAI officially discontinued the Sora consumer app and web experience on April 26, 2026, with the developer API scheduled to shut down on September 24, 2026. [1]

Timeline of the Shutdown

  • March 24, 2026: OpenAI announced it was winding down Sora in a surprise move.
  • April 26, 2026: The consumer application and web platform went offline.
  • September 24, 2026: The remaining Sora API support is set to end. \

Why OpenAI Shut Down Sora

  • High Operating Costs: Video generation required massive computing resources, burning roughly $1 million daily while drawing finite AI chips away from other projects

Can’t compete with cheaper Chinese models. Chinese open source models are 90% of the performance and 10% or 20% of the price…

So, I decided to give creating micro films a shot. I wrote out a scene based on some Buddhist discussions about timelessness and impermanence and the cycle of yadayada—

I gave the scene over to a Algonquin Indian paddling across an Adirondack lake. I used Claude to help
Me tighten up the plot and clarify thematic elements and as I added things or changed descriptions, it kept up.

Claude suggested using Runway to get to the video level, so I signed up — but couldn’t get the video generated without a paid subscription, which I didn’t want to do right just then. I probably will though, $12 a month, because these are the images it gave me from the Claude prompts— which i think is the way to go. I figure Claude knows how to talk to other ai models better than I do.

Facial consistency from shot to shot was the worry— as I had at least two close ups written in and several side or behind shots and many of the AIs have trouble remembering the AI face they just made— which is hilarious.
