I will be running up the mountain by my house after I take my son to bushiban. This was going to be my long run. Maybe not today.
Yeah, last night I was looking at the temperature and figuring I would go for a bike ride anyway. But the air quality has taken that out of my hands.
So I just got back. I took the shorter route (3k run up, 3k walk down). I really enjoyed the cooler, almost cold, temperatures. And my dog was definitely happy. Iāve got a tiny bit of a cough but Iām sure itāll go away soon. I think you made the right decision about your bike ride. I donāt think it would good to be out there for too long. My next workout later today will be at an indoor pool.
Is rough outside in Taipei, especially in the eyes.
Seems odd too that it has large swathes of west Africa as pretty much the most polluted place on earth at the moment. I wonder why that is.
Sand from the Sahara. It blows across to the Amazon enriching the soil and fertilising algal blooms in the Atlantic ocean.
It even blows up to Ireland , youāll wake up some mornings with your car covered with fine dust from the Sahara.
Sh&tty air quality across most of Taiwan expected this week.
Taiwan will experience poorer air quality and visibility from Monday through Thursday due to fine particulate matter (PM2.5) moving in from China, according to the Ministry of Environment (MOENV).

This air quality is making me angry. I have a constant cough and itchy eyes anytime Iām not sitting right next to my air purifier. And locals are burning shit too, so I donāt want to hear about China. China might be causing problems but the locals are making things worse.
You live here long term are you also not a ālocalā
Yeah itās always China Chinaā¦bullshit. A lot of it is locally produced.
Kaohsiung is particularly bad this year
Taipei this winter is no fun eitherā¦ I am not looking at the charts just based on the smell of pollution one breathing when walking around
You live here long term are you also not a ālocalā
Iāll consider myself a local when the government gives me the same rights as them.

You have an equal right to breath polluted air?
Just not to protest it, or vote to change it, or really anything usefulā¦

I hope youāre feeling better. Pleased be assured you are not alone, as this thread from a decade ago shows, including some great posts from @Mucha_Man a fellow named @headhonchoII . I wonder where this guy is now?
According to a letter to the editor in the [strike]China Post[/strike] Taipei Times today, titled āFocusing on the environmentā another phd professor writes that he was ''shocked and saddened to hear that a friend of [his], one of Taiwanās most distinguished foreign professors, is considering leaving Taiwan because of the headaches which the air pollution in Taipei causes him. āā True? www.taipeitimes.com LETTERS page re Focusing on the environment DEAR EDITORS I was shocked and saddenedā¦

God, that bozo?! Who cares!
(Joking. Which I hope is obvious.)
