Or this:

It’s good for China to know Taiwan has a hair trigger set though.

I noticed that too, and how unusually quickly the number of clicks went up for the two Twitter links I posted. Thought it was interesting!

I was actually just trying to look on the admin dashboard to see if the number of pageviews suddenly went up after the presidential alert, but I couldn’t see anything notable at the day level (I wonder if it takes a while to update?) or a way to break it down by hour.

Bingo.

BTW, I did call the number shown in the text, and it was invalid…

It might not fly as well if they shaped it like a pineapple or a brick or something.

Is that significant?

I’d say it was more likely to scare some of the oldies further under the KMT’s wing.

Please remember to be scared. China is the enemy. Remain scared. This Presidential Alert is unrelated to the upcoming presidential election.

It’s known for falling out of the sky.

Yes, that means it’s indeed just a satellite/rocket and not a missile.

Here’s the Wikipedia page for it - Einstein Probe - Wikipedia

It’s a partnership with the ESA - the EU is OK with being attached to this kind of behavior?

So the warning should have been sent to the fishing boats?

That’s what they want us to think!

the text made us scared enough I think

I thought it flew over Southern Taiwan. I guess that’s why the message informs people to look out for unidentified objects/debris.
